If you thought Topaz Jones was sleeping, think again! Back with another tape for the Summer, TastemakersNJ and Dope Couture present to you “Hello My Name Is”, Topaz Jones’ Sophomore project. With heavy production by Thelonious Martin, the two made sure to deliver the quality sound they are known for to add to your Summer playlists.
The project began in the Fall of 2010 when the two young 18-year old artists came together to record the song “Look At Me Now” which was released as the lead single for a collaborative mixtape by 2DopeBoyz.com and Dope Couture. From that point the duo continued to craft a masterpiece full of soulful samples, hard hitting beats and prolific wordplay reminiscent of the classic Hip Hop they grew up on. Topaz Jones, who will attend NYU’s prestigious Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music in the Fall, is a true lyricist.
